Theoretical – Practical
Objective
To train dental surgeons to diagnose and treat clinical situations that require the therapeutic and/or aesthetic use of botulinum toxin and hyaluronic acid filler biomaterial. And enable them to apply, safely and efficiently, these pharmaceutical specialties within the scope of Dentistry aimed at Facial Harmonization.

- Legislation

- Review the contents related to Anatomy:
Facial, skull and posterior neck muscles;
Vasculonervous system of interest;
Dynamics of facial movements;
- Instruct and train the student on the use of:
- a) Botulinum Toxin
Historic;
Active types/principles, pharmacokinetics and drug interactions;
Mechanism of action;
Commercial presentations;
Dilutions and dosages;
Application methodologies for Facial and Functional Harmonization of the muscles of the Orofacial complex;
Adverse effects;
Indications / Contraindications;
Treatments aimed at Facial Harmonization, as an adjunct in the treatment of TMD and Orofacial Pain, Masseter Muscle Hyperactivity, Postoperative periodontal and implant surgery, and Gingival smile.
- b) Completion
Anatomy of the skin (epidermis, dermis, and subcutaneous tissue);
Hyaluronic acid – fundamental concepts and characteristics;
Filling techniques;
Indications and contraindications;
Treatment of nasogenian sulcus;
Melomentonian groove treatment – marionette line
Treatment of radial lines of the lips (barcode);
Lip contour and redefinition;
Lip volumizing;
Postoperative instructions;
Complications.
